Congrats. Well deserved. The nicest thing about this site, apartfrom the insightful posts and thread comments, are the absence of advertisements.

Maybe it's time to purchase www.beatroot.com?

I about the ads thing. Most business models on the net rely on adverts – and that’s OK, even though we are subjected to those horrid pop ups, which you have to chase across the screen to click the ‘x’. And there are many high hit blogs that use adsense, etc. But I think that there should be a calm bit of the WWW where readers are not molested by that thing.

Do you interpret web data?
I think a hit is generated by any action a web site, so a single user can generate a huge number before the've even read anything. Not sure though.
Uniques 39.993 - comma or decimal point? Does that mean individual visits?

A 'unique' is a visit by an individual IP address.

Very impressive. My blog got only 6 600 visits (and 31 000 pageviews) in October...

But you have an interesting gap between hits and uniques. It means they dig around in the archives a lot. Mine come in on home page, read whatever is there, and then go somewhere else.

Because of the way I organized October, I think that will be a peak for this blog for a long while. But I more than doubled regular readers 'returns', and that was the point.
