Photos are back...


...but slow loading (picture by my favorite Polish artist, Zdzislaw Beksinski, who was stabbed to death by young robbers in his home in Warsaw last year).

  1. Beksinski's depictions of death and decay are grotesque. If conveying that dark vision was his goal, he has succeeded in spades.
    It is sad and depressing to hear that he came to such a senseless end.
    Thanks for the image of his art as he was practically unknown here in the states.

    I love Polish art. My father has quite a collection of polish artists, but Beksinski is not among them. I love his work. Funny, though, how I did not know he had been murdered! I need to really get more in the know.....

  3. It's a deeply sad story that gets sadder.

    His son - who was the first translator into Polish of Monty Python films!!! - killed himself a few years ago. Sad but brilliant familiy.
